I am a disabled veteran and always carry VA cards with me. I never dreamed that one day I’d become a grumpy old navy veteran but here I am killing it shirt. Which is good enough for wherever they offer discounts. But if you don’t ask you to win, you’ll get a discount of usually about 10%. But that 10% may help the budget. The only place I was offered a military discount that was not required was in Radioshack. I think they still had a store. The Salesman there saw the small military package and the boonie hat I had and asked me Want to reduce the price for the military?
What should you say to a Navy veteran?
My wife will always ask if there are military discounts. They have them at tourist destinations, shops, restaurants, airlines, car rentals, many other things, but you have to ask. All they have Can say yes or no. Use them when you can. Squid. Swabee. Devil dog. Grunt. Sir. Seam. Don’t joke the submarine about 300 sailors coming down and 150 couples going up. Do not thank us for our service except veteran days or if you are a child (we love children talking to us). We are ordinary people who happened to serve our country. If you are not a soldier, you cannot tell military jokes.
I never dreamed that one day I’d become a grumpy old navy veteran but here I am killing it ladies, v-neck t-shirt, tank top, flowy tank
The Navy and the Air Force may have never seen combat I never dreamed that one day I’d become a grumpy old navy veteran but here I am killing it shirt. We do not need you to thank us for our sacrifice. Military and Marines probably saw friends dead. They did not sacrifice as much as their friends. Thank them because it often evokes memories of the dead. This is not an example of all service members, only those I know. Your results are subject to change. The best thing I can say is that if you need to acknowledge a veteran. Then nod and say that Glad you made it home. My sense for the last few decades is that veterans were used as props by politicians and civilians did not know why they were thanking veterans.
This may be changing. This Veterans’ Day, I got a free meal at Olive Garden. It may not seem like much to others but it was the first time I felt some real support, not just empty rhetoric. I believe that veterans should be treated equally. The expression: never in harms way is too broad, and suggests that people who never went out on patrol are cowards. Look at the situation a bit differently. Most of the people who went to Vietnam, did not see combat. But, how long would those who did see combat last if it were not for those working in logistics and other support facilities?
I never dreamed that one day I’d become a grumpy old navy veteran but here I am killing it sweater, hoodie, and long sleeve
How long would anybody have lasted had it not been for all of the support personnel who never left the USA. I never dreamed that one day I’d become a grumpy old navy veteran but here I am killing it shirt. How long would the USA last if no one ever served in our military? During the World Wars, how would they have turned out if all of those who were drafted found ways to keep from being drafted. Many of those drafted never heard the odd angry shot either, so just because they supported those who actually fought, should they be denied benefits. Those serving in USO did not fight.
