The rest are stripped down of all useful gear such as boilers, boiler-evaporators, main reduction gears. Which the Navy does not own, they rent. Propulsion diesel engines, diesel generators, heat exchangers, air compressors. Air conditioner and refrigeration units, and similar equipment that can be retrofitted onto newer ships.
